BAL and Visit Rwanda Showcase African Culture in Dakar Event

In a vibrant celebration held in Dakar, Senegal, the Basketball Africa League (BAL) and the Visit Rwanda program came together to highlight African culture and the partnership between Senegal and Rwanda. This event, which took place on the night of Monday, May 11, 2024, saw attendance from BAL officials and sponsors.

One of the key moments of the evening was a speech by Candy Basomingera, the Deputy Director of the Rwanda Convention Bureau (RCB). In his welcoming address, he said, “We have a lot to do, the private sector is working hard in all programs including Visit Rwanda. That's why I want to invite you and welcome you to see in person what you think [...].” He added, "We are happy to welcome all the guests who will come to BAL and the relationship they will have with Rwandans."

BAL President Amadou Gallo Fall also expressed his excitement, saying, "The results we get from 214 countries are that everyone is watching and enjoying it."

The upcoming BAL finals are set to take place in Kigali, Rwanda, from May 24 to June 1, 2024, at the BK Arena. The event promises to be fun for everyone, featuring teams that have fought hard to reach the finals.

In a continued commitment to basketball, Rwanda, through the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), has extended its contract with BAL. This agreement ensures that Rwanda will host and organize refereeing and final matches for the next three years.

Stay tuned for what promises to be an exciting series of games in Kigali!
